Approach to Child Therapy
Dr. Wyman provides a wide range of assessment, child therapy, crisis intervention and consultation services to children and youth between the ages of 4 to 19. He works from the biopsychosocial model of mental health, which indicates that our mental health is influenced by a combination of biological, psychological and social/environmental factors. Dr. Wyman utilizes an eclectic (or multi-method) approach to treatment, wherein he tailors the therapy approaches he uses to the specific developmental characteristics, social/cultural background, and presenting concerns of the client. Dr. Wyman also utilizes a data-driven approach to inform his treatment plans and to monitor client progress.
